The gate mounts outside of the opening, so the sides shouldn’t be an issue, but the bottom “gaps” because it cannot be pulled taught enough and because it doesn’t touch the ground. The cat would likely be able to “shimmy” under the bottom. That’s what my small pup does. By Kelly on October 24, 2021
Just measured it. The width of the mounting bracket on the main retractable side is 2.5”. The width of the mounting bracket on the other side is 2”. By barry on September 15, 2022
